Volunteer For Peace

Peace grows when we build it together.

VPEACE brings volunteers and communities together to support education, empower young people, and help refugees and host communities build a more inclusive future.

Who we are

Everyone deserves the chance to learn, belong, and live in peace.

We are volunteers working to strengthen peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities.

In Uganda, we support education, provide relief, and help young people and communities thrive. In Canada, we connect newcomers from East Africa with volunteers who help them navigate daily life, access services, and build connections in their new communities.

Working alongside local communities, we respond to practical needs and help build the trust, relationships, and opportunities that make peaceful coexistence possible.

Why VPEACE

Built by communities, for communities

  • Community-driven

We listen to communities, work with local groups, and respond to the needs people tell us about.

  • Rooted in lived experience

VPEACE began as an initiative of refugee student volunteers. Lived experience and community knowledge shape everything we do.

  • Powered by volunteers

We believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, and we bring people, skills, and resources together.

  • Committed to peaceful coexistence

Our programs in Uganda and Canada are distinct, but share one commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and peace.

Peace is built together.

Every contribution, every act of service, and every new connection can help build a stronger community.
